Melody had been doing a new photoshoot with someone her mother found to be an interesting character. A girl named Amber Lenoir, melody didn't really know a whole lot of the world outside of hoenn because of her limited ability to watch the news and such but she had heard from hearsay that this girl was really popular in Johto. [break][break]

She was all for helping people reach new audiences and heights for their talents so she was extremely excited to work with her. Melody sat in a really high up chair, swinging her feet as the staff for the photoshoot had been putting her together and she typed away on her phone looking at various pictures on pinterest of art and liking them. Her Corsola sat underneath the chair and was sleeping soundly as she felt most comfortable with Melody.

"I don't co-headline anything, Cynthia. I'm not doing this stupid photoshoot." Amber Lenoir tapped her foot impatiently, scowling at the hot pink flyer with her name sitting below Melody Miro's in smaller font. The audacity.

"Do you have any idea the political capital I just spent on you?" her publicist said, her bespectacled face purpling. "Do you have any idea how ludicrously in-demand Melody Miro is?! The woman has a stellar resume in Hoenn--one that, frankly, you don't."

Of which Amber was more than well aware. Ever the diva, however, the knowledge of the other celebrity's fame was something that inspired Amber to sulk more than anything else; to put it bluntly, she did poorly with others being the center of attention.

"You can be such a child, Amber. For once, stop thinking about yourself, and think about your brand. This isn't Johto." Cynthia glared at the young woman, yanking the cell phone from her hands. Glancing down at the screen, the publicist's eyebrows rose at the series of texts to yoshiro shioda .

Unimpressed, Cynthia handed the phone back to the whining girl and said, without a trace of sympathy, "Get ready to do your job. You know, the thing you do that millions of other people would like to do. And for Celebi's sake, be nice to Melody. She's actually a decent person."

So that was that. The Sugar and Spice photoshoot was set and scheduled.

Amber was utterly terrible at befriending most women, particularly those in her own field. Her mother had trained her to view them all as enemies out to sabotage one another to win an audition, which as one might imagine, wasn't conductive to forming successful female friendships.

Dressed in spiky black leather with high-heeled boots, the blonde was a stark contrast to the pretty pink-haired woman scrolling on her phone, a Corsola at her feet. Inhaling deeply, Amber raised a hand and attempted a smile as her faithful Umbreon, Lucifer, trotted at her side. "Hi! You're Melody, right? I'm Amber. Thanks for having us!"

She could do this. She could be nice.

Oh! She was here! Melody sprang up like a watchhog that didn't see it own shadow on watchhog day. She rushed over to the girl excitedly as she rarely ever worked with others in her field since she was such a busy bee. However her Mother had set aside time for this as it seemed to be beneficial to melody's career to work with people who were originally famous outside of Hoenn. [break][break]

"Theeee one and only!" she said excitedly as her corsola stirred awake and waddled it's way over to Melody and hugged her legs. "It's nice to meet you amber, are you excited for the photoshoot?" she asked curiously as the people who were working on her hair dragged her back to her chair but melody ignored them and continued to maintain eye contact with Amber with a big grin on her face. [break][break]

Corsola looked at the umbreon with curiosity but stayed by melody's side as she was dragged back.

"Super duper excited!" Amber lied, attempting her brightest smile. Though it was true that she was looking forward to facing the cameras. It had been awhile since she'd done something of this caliber; that was likely due to Melody's fame, she thought with mild bitterness.

Lucifer, however, was immediately eager to take part, sniffing at the Corsola in excited greeting as his tail wagged. "Luci!" Amber scolded gently. "You're going to scare the other Pokemon! Not everyone wants an Umbreon sniffing in their face." She turned to Melody apologetically. "Sorry... he gets excited. Is your Corsola, uh, friendly?"

As the conversation continued, several staff members entered to focus on the hair and makeup for the two models, while racks of costumes were swept in for fittings. It was strange how easily Amber found herself comfortable talking to another person in the midst of so many strangers, but that was the life she had grown up in: no privacy existed, except in the comfort of your own home.

"Oooh! That's a cute outfit," Amber said despite herself, something in Melody's ensemble catching her eye. "Not my usual style, but that's actually really nice. You gonna wear it for the photoshoot?" Her surprise and praise were both genuine.

As amber asked if Melody's corsola was friendly she simply nods as the pair could hear the giggles coming from corsola as she found it funny how curious Umbreon was. "Very friendly, she is an attention hog too so im sure Umbreon will be best buds with her." she confirms as the two pokemon became quick friends. [break][break]

As amber complimented melody's outfit, she did a little spin to flourish it. She was wearing a white cardigan with a small blue dress underneath of it and wedges as melody's outfits were usually bright and very light colored as per her style. "What about you? what are you gonna wear? I forgot the theme of this photoshoot honestly." as the girl was very forgetful.

"God, it matches your hair SO well," Amber said, the praise spiked with the slightest hint of jealousy.

Pink hair. Why hadn't Amber thought about dying her own hair pink? It looked SO cute with blues and whites, ugh, but if Amber tried it then it would just look like she was trying to copy Melody Miro, and oof, the press would be brutal with those 'who wore it better' side-by-sides...

Maybe Amber could play with a pink wig later, just for fun? No one would have to know.

Lucifer, who was not at all distracted by such tedious inner monologue, was sniffing at Melody's Corsola and wagging his tail enthusiastically as he began to give her a gentle, curious lick. Delighted by the taste of salt on the Corsola, the Umbreon began to lovingly groom her, as if trying to make the Corsola look her absolute best before the photoshoot.

"Oh my god, Luci, stop being weird," Amber laughed, successfully distracted from her thoughts by her Pokemon's antics.

The theme chosen had been kind of obvious, a good-girl and bad-girl motif where Melody was, of course, the good girl and Amber was, of course, the bad girl. You could tell just looking at the outfits presented who was playing what role. Amber did love her sleek, black leather outfits, all goth-inspired to match her Umbreon's style. However, Amber had to admit sometimes she did miss the pastels she wore when she was younger, the kind that Melody could twirl in and look heavenly in.

"They call it something like Sugar and Spice, I think?" Amber said, shrugging. "But I think they're going for a sort of opposites thing, where you're all bright, sparkling, and girly, and I'm... the opposite." The blonde laughed. "I guess dark, spiky, and grungy? I don't mind, though. I like that style."

It felt sort of weird to say, but like... Melody Miro was really nice? Really, really nice. But like, sincerely nice, not fake nice? Amber couldn't explain why it hit a bit different. And it was kind of cool hearing how excited she was about her gym, honestly.

"Yeah? That's awesome, actually," Amber said, bouncing on her spiky heels. "Gym leaders are, like, the coolest people. They know what they're about and everyone knows they've earned their place there, fair and square." There was a part of her that wondered if one day she might be one of them. But saying that aloud would result in being laughed at, she suspected, so she kept it to herself.

'Amber? Responsible? Ha ha. Very funny.'

"Let's do it! We'll rock this shit," she cheered, falling into the rhythm of Melody's hype routine despite herself. Man, she was good at working a crowd, huh?

Melody blushed at amber's compliments to the gym leader, it had been an extremely long time since anyone had said anything positive about the league around her. It was a refreshing change of pace, especially since in sootopolis she just faced constant harassment...it was motivating. [break][break]

She got hyped from it, letting it fuel her passion for music and the arts again as she wanted to put all she had into this photoshoot now. "Hell yeah! You should visit my gym sometime if you're interested in battling!" she tells amber, giving her an open invitation to hang out with her again if she so chose to.
